Radiology and Imaging Sciences

This position is located within the Radiology and Imaging Sciences Department (http://www.cc.nih.gov/drd/), Clinical Center (CC), National Institutes of Health (NIH). The NIH is the principal biomedical research institution of the Federal Government. The CC is the research hospital responsible for ensuring the highest possible level of medical care for research subjects of the NIH.

Radiology and Imaging Sciences (RAD&IS) is responsible for all clinical diagnostic imaging studies performed at NIH (including MRI, CT, CR, DR, Ultrasound, etc.) and for the conduct of a multidisciplinary research effort involving all aspects of radiological images and imaging sciences. The PACS/ RIS Section is responsible for providing computer-based electronic diagnostic images, information services and electronic medical records services to support patient care, imaging research and the clinical mission of the NIH CC. It is responsible for the operation of the hospital Picture Archiving and Communications Systems (PACS) and the Radiology Information System (RIS) that support patient care activities and clinical research in the NIH CC. This position manages the PACS/RIS function.
