Parking

All non-NIH identified vehicles will be searched at campus entry points. Picture identification is required to gain entrance on campus as well as entrance into any NIH buildings.

Parking is limited at NIH and parking regulations are strictly enforced. Visitors entering in a vehicle will get screened and receive badge at the perimeter while their car is being inspected. Visitors must show one (1) form of identification (a government-issued photo ID, driver's license, passport, green card, etc.).

Pedestrians coming from the Metro will be screened and receive a badge at the Gateway Visitor Center. Public transportation is recommended due to limited parking.

Due to the checking of IDs at the perimeter, visitors will not be required to show their ID again to gain access to the majority of buildings on the NIH Bethesda campus during the normal business day.
