Winter updates from the Patient Recruitment Office

Healthy volunteers at least 18 years old with no history of cardiovascular disease, are needed to participate in a research study with the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute at the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Researchers are interested in understanding the effects of oil enriched diets with palmitoleate acid (omega-7) on decreasing your cardiovascular risk and effects on metabolism. All study related medications, tests or procedures are at no cost to you. Receive compensation for your participation at the end of the completed study. Researchers at the National Human Genome Research Institute are seeking healthy children between 2 and 17 years old to participate in a research study about the immune system in patients with mitochondrial disease in comparison to their healthy peers. Researchers at the NIH Clinical Center are conducting a study to evaluate blood clotting in people with sickle cell disease and trait and need healthy African American volunteers.
