Annie M. Cichocki, MS, MSS, RDN, LD, ACE-CPT

Biosketch

Annie Cichocki serves as the NIH Clinical Center's Acting Deputy Executive Officer. As the Acting Deputy Executive Officer, she oversees the Nutrition, Hospital Engineering and Facility Services, Office of Hospital Administrative Support, and Spiritual Care.

Annie Cichocki is also the Chief of the Nutrition Department at the Clinical Center.

As chief of the Clinical Center’s Nutrition Department, Annie Cichocki manages a full range of both clinical and research services, including the daily operations of the metabolic kitchen and the NIH Dietetic Internship Program, in addition to ongoing food service delivery and managing quality assurance and performance improvement programs.

Recent initiatives include upgrading the Department’s computer system (CBORD), and implementing a Call Center system to field phone calls from patients to order their meals.Additionally, the department supported the Clinical Center’s implementation of new electronic medical record documentation for clinical nutrition services.  

The department currently supports 36 research protocols from the different NIH Institutes and Centers.

Cichocki’s goals for the department are to provide high quality nutrition services to Clinical Center patients and support stakeholders through innovative and evidence-based nutrition services practices.  

Before arriving at the Clinical Center in May 2019, she was the Clinical Operations Officer for Warrior Care and Transition in Arlington, Va., where she oversaw integration, and synchronization of policies to ensure world class clinical care and case management for the care, rehabilitation and transition of wounded, ill and injured soldiers and participated in the analysis of organizational inspection program for all 14 Warrior Care and Transition units.

In her nutrition career, she previously served in multiple roles including as Chief, Nutrition Care Division, clinical dietitian, a nutrition program manager, and deputy director of a wellness center. Cichocki is currently a member of the US Army Reserves as Commander of the 7450th Medical Backfill Battalion in Colorado, ensuring a fully functional medical unit in support of military operations.

Of her leadership role in the Clinical Center’s nutrition operation, she states, “Our patients and staff are our greatest assets. My goal is to ensure that our patients receive high quality and safe patient-centered nutrition care and making sure that our employees are provided the training and support they need in the performance of their duties and responsibilities.”
