Anesthesia Outreach Programs (AOP)

Dr. Lee and Dr. Drew Mannes
Dr. Drew Mannes, Chief of Surgery welcomes Dr. Lee to her Anesthesia Residency rotation 2014

DPM is an environment that supports education and professional development. In recent years our department has established a partnership with the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) and with Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC). These partnerships provide opportunities of learning that supports best practices of anesthesia care within an environment of anesthesiology mentorship. The student Registered Nurse anesthesia (SRNA) program has been designed to support students who are enrolled in the Nurse Anesthesia program at USUHS. The Anesthesiology residents from WRNMMC come to NIH CC- for a two-month rotation period with an emphasis on anesthetic management of thoracic and neurosurgery cases. All participants who are accepted rotate through the operating room and experience hands-on training under the mentorship of DPM Anesthesia Outreach Team.
