Biosketch

Dr. Cohen received his PhD in Radiation Biology from the University of Iowa in 1992, where he developed segmentation methods and phantom materials for MR multi-echo acquisitions. He has held scientific and executive leadership positions in the medical device and clinical informatics industry and community healthcare organizations.   

Dr. Cohen’s role is to drive the future technology state of Radiology at the National Institutes of Health. Acting as a technology leader for the Clinical Center and the Radiology and Imaging Sciences, he leads the PACS/RIS team for the NIH Clinical Center and the other Institutes and Centers that collaborate with the Clinical Center. He manages all Clinical IT projects within the department and those that interact with departmental systems.  He also represents Radiology and Imaging Science in Center and Campus wide oversight committees.
